Overview
Management of Diabetes is a practical, non-accredited workshop that gives disability and aged care workers the knowledge and confidence to support people living with diabetes safely and effectively in everyday settings.
The course covers understanding diabetes, daily support needs, monitoring, risk management, documentation, and escalation — so participants receive safe, consistent, person-centred support in line with individual management plans and organisational policies.
This is non-accredited training. It does not replace clinical training and does not authorise independent clinical decision-making. Upon successful completion, participants receive a Certificate of Attendance. For hands-on insulin skills, pair this workshop with our Insulin Administration course.
Course Delivery and Assessment
The workshop runs for approximately 3 hours face-to-face, combining theory with practical demonstrations, scenarios, and case-based learning drawn from disability and aged care settings.
Assessment is non-accredited and based on knowledge checks and active participation throughout the session, including scenario-based discussions around daily support, monitoring, and escalation.
